Actress to lead kids camp Actress, playwright and drama coach Roxanne Diesel, who has been teaching and directing youth theater for more than 13 years, nine in Ventura County, will lead two summer camps in Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. CATS (Creative Acting Theater School) will offer "Camp Broadway," a week-long drama day camp for ages 7-12 in a "noncompetitive environment that is designed to awaken the creative spirit and imagination through acting, music and movement." The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, June 21-25 and Aug. 2-6 in Thousand Oaks and July 5-9 in Simi Valley. "Alice in Wonderland" will be the camp’s production presented to family and friends on the last evening of class. The cost is $130 plus a $15 fee payable to the instructor that covers a camp T-shirt and all costume and production materials. "Camp Manners" is an activity-filled program designed to help children interact with others in a positive way and develop the skills necessary to handle everyday situations in a caring and courteous manner. Camps are week-long, half-day sessions open to ages 7-12 and will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 9-12 in Thousand Oaks and from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 9-12 in Simi Valley. Registration fee is $75 plus a lab fee of $15 payable to the instructor that includes all handouts, materials, snacks, end-of-camp graduation party and handbook.
