New neighbor in town

Greetings, neighbor. We’re the Simi Valley Acorn.

Today we present our inaugural edition and we’re flattered to call this wonderful community our new home. We’re also pleased to know that intelligent, caring readers such as you will be watching our progress and holding us to the highest community standards.

For over 30 years The Acorn publication has been serving local communities from Hidden Hills to Westlake Village. In 1998, our free weekly deliveries started going to Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park as well. Last year, publishers Jim and Lisa Rule worked with the newspaper’s talented staff and launched a third publication, the Moorpark Acorn.

Service to the community is what the Acorn Newspapers are all about, and nowhere is that community spirit more alive than in Simi Valley. The neighborhoods are vibrant, business is growing, and the parks, recreational and entertainment activities are second to none.

Inside these pages you’ll find a number of trademark features that make this publication one you can be proud of.

Neighborhood Focus puts the spotlight on people and groups who try to effect positive change in the community. Community Notes and Datebook will keep you abreast of clubs, organizations and meetings, while various sections such as Neighbors, Faith, Sports and Business contain news and informational stories.
